    Regarding upgrading to U4.8

I have my prod site running on U4.7.2 and uComponents 4.0.0-beta. Will it be safe to upgrade it to U4.8 keeping uComponets to 4.0.0-beta as we still not have stable version of uComponets V5 for U4.8?

    Hi Pinal,

Both uComponents v3.x and v4.0-beta will work with Umbraco v4.8 if the workaround is applied: http://j.mp/umb48-breaks-ucomponents

(The only breaking change with 4.8 is the Lucene.Net reference)

With uComponents 5.0+, we will be compiling against Umbraco 4.8+ as that's the version where selected components were split up/off.

    Cheers, Lee

Thanks Lee. So what do u suggest shoud i wait for stable release for uC 5 and then upgrage both U and uC to 4.8 and 5? or as of now just update Umbraco to U4.8 and let uC be 4-beta and letter on update it when stable release is available?

We are planning on getting v4.0 out of beta very soon - it's pretty much stable as it is now - so in the next week or so.

With v5.0, we're looking at end of August for a beta, then would probably be a few weeks later for polished release.

So for now, I'd stick with v4.0-beta (for upgrading to *final* will just be a DLL copy/replace).

    Cheers, Lee.

I have already addressed the issue you are mentioning. And my all ucoms are working fine after upgrade. Issue is only with RichText Editors.

got it...... found the workaround for RTE issue.  Context menu must be enabled. and don't forget for refresh the browser.

Developer -> DataTypes -> Richtext Editor - Enable Contextmenu must be activated.

Refresh your browser and see if that get you anywhere  :)

Issue regarding this has already been reported. http://umbraco.codeplex.com/workitem/30995
