My company is looking into various content management systems and Umbraco is on our radar. However, one of our requirements is that the front end web site will sit on a server inside a DMZ. That server is not allowed to have direct access to a database server. Typically we use web services to pass data back and forth from web sites and databases.

That server is not allowed to have direct access to a database server. Typically we use web services to pass data back and forth from web sites and databases.
Is Umbraco able to access its database through webservices? I found a post about this (http://our.umbraco.org/forum/getting-started/installing-umbraco/3689-Umbraco-Data-Access) but it was from 2009 and I didn't know if something has been done since then.
