Does anyone have any good implementations on the dashboard in umbraco. And why is it not active by default?
And what was the original purpose with the dashboard?
One would like tp have some of the features that others systems like Wordpress have.

Not sure exactly what you need, but there are some dashboard packages (most of them including source) so you can have a look at the code.
They're just user controls, so you can build whatever you want.
