.NET custom control as macro not rendering on page

    hi,

i have searched the forum & the web and found many posts regarding custom controls & macros in umbraco - but they are all about issues until being able to place the macro in the editor - all that works for me:

    what did i do?

    • i created an assembly (navigation.cs - inheriting from 'WebControl') that i want to use as a kind of sitemap within the rich text editor (it works fine as a control in the template)
    • created a macro for that assembly (with use & render in editor enabled): all works fine (properties there, no errors...)
    • placed it in the editor: the expected content is rendered fine in the editor in the backend
    • on the page: nothing.... no content - just a '<?UMBRACO_MACRO...'  is rendered to the html output - when debugging: it not even gets to the assembly at runtime...

can anyone tell me where and if i'm missing something? what am i doing wrong?

    i'm using umbraco v 4.7.1.1 (Assembly version: 1.0.4393.24044).

i have used user controls before (with .ascx files) and they work fine... so what's the trick here?

    any help is highly appreciated!
    thank you all
    reinold

hmmmm... not much response here so far...

meanwhile no single macro is rendering on the published page when i throw it into the rich text editor...

    has anyone an idea?
    that's really strange :-/

    thank you very much!
