    Site Search

    Hello,

We are using Umbraco 5.0 for our CMS development. We have a site search functionality that we need to implement in our website, its a pretty standard functionality for a public facing website.

Can anyone share how can we go about implementing this? I have read somewhere that Examine is not yet implemented. It alright for us to not use Examine or use something else thats built in.

Any help, any kind of links here would be really appreciated.

    Hey Sahil

http://our.umbraco.org/projects/website-utilities/xsltsearch is a fantastic search although it doesn't state if it is compatible with V5 - being xslt it might be.

Maybe drop a post in the associated forums to check - Douglas Robar (the author) is very good at responding to questions.

    Cheers

    Nigel

Thanks Nigel, i have posted the query in Umbraco 5: General Discussion

Do you know if  there is anyway we can use XSLT in 5.0? As far as i understood, Umbraco 5.0 is a ground up write up and XSLT was the way used in 4.x and is not used/supported in Umbraco 5.0.

Please correct me if i am worong.

    Hello,

There is indeed no support for XSLT in Umbraco 5. See this post from Niels about why : http://umbraco.com/follow-us/blog-archive/2011/11/10/saying-goodbye-to-an-old-friend.aspx

    Cheers,

    Michael.
