Links in TinyMCE not working with Umbraco 4.7.2 and IE11

    Hi,

Our client is running Umbraco 4.7.2. After they started to use Internet Explorer 11, they cannot create links anymore (for texts or images) in TinyMCE. I suspect an upgrade of TinyMCE is needed (https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-43312). Has anyone done this for Umbraco 4.7.2? Is it possible?

    Thanks for any input!

    Kind regards Jessica

    Hi Jesssica,

Of course 4.7.2 is a old version.

I found this forum topic about IE11 and tinyMce. Maybe there is something in there that can help you out : https://our.umbraco.org/forum/ourumb-dev-forum/bugs/29911-RTE-doesn%27t-work-in-FF11?p=0

Or maybe this blog post can help you out : https://blog.fynydd.com/updating-tinymce-in-umbraco/

EDIT : make sure you get 3.x version of the tinyMce here : http://archive.tinymce.com/download/older.php

Thank you Dave! So an upgrade of TinyMCE seems to be the way forward.

But I guess upgrading the TinyMCE-version means that you have to incorporate the Umbraco-specific changes afterwards. Is there anyone out there that have those documented?

I've seen that there is a file named "umbraco-implementation-notes.txt" in the tinymce-folder, but it would be great to have a more in depth guide.

According to this blogpost : https://blog.fynydd.com/updating-tinymce-in-umbraco/ it should be fairly easy.
