One of our clients is a membership organization. They would like to offer each of their members a content managed Web site that would be tied to the organization.
So basically, you would have a parent site with admin users that would set up child sites for members requesting them. Ideally, this would be a simple form where they entered information about the site, selected a template, etc. The admin users would also set up user account(s) for the members allowing them to modify the contents of their sub site.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried setting up this sort of functionality - or something like it with Umbraco - or if you know of any other software that would be able to handle this type of workflow.
When I first heard the request, my mind went immediately to Google Sites - that's seems like a good model for what they're wanting to accomplish. I'm going to go down that road as well - researching Google Apps - but I wanted to check here first.
