    Integrating YAF

I know there are numerous posts about integrating Umbraco and YAF, but I haven't seen anything (yet) that says whether you can control access to forums based on the Umbraco Membership details.

I am building a web site which uses an external membership provider. Members can belong to any number of groups (roles). Would it be possible to use this same membership provider to control access to the forum as a whole and also to control access to individual areas (what are sections within a forum called?!?)?

On the other hand, is it much simpler / better to operate the site and forum as two separate items, in terms of membership, etc?

    Hi Gordon,

Since we don't have a full integrated Forum yet I was thinking of extending Yaf to use the Umbraco Membership provider. Seems it has been done allready. Check out this post

    Cheers,

    Richard
