    Content tree disappears when I follow 'Add Items to the Context Menu' Video tutorial

    Following the 'Add items to context menu' video tutorial by Per Ploug, my content tree disappears after I have copied the source code for the Tree Event into my Umbraco App_Code folder. 

    I have tried to look around for a solution but have had no luck - a lot of people suggest that the ajax files could be out of date, although I am not sure I am even using any ajax files and I have had no problems with a lot of other similar tutorials until now.

    Firebug gives the following error when I try to load my umbraco page:

    illegal character on line 147, (the line begins var ctxMenu = ....)

    Any help appreciated

    Hi Bob

    What is the name of the script where the error is occuring? And what other tutorials have you been following with, which you did not succeed?

    I suposse you experience these problems on a 4.7.1 installation?

    Are you certain that these issues are not related to permissions not being set properly perhaps?

    Hi Bob,

    The code in that video was for an older version of Umbraco and there have been some changes since.  See this thread for the fix:  http://our.umbraco.org/forum/developers/extending-umbraco/15025-Content-Tree-Will-Not-render-after-creating-new-Context-Menu-Item
