    Translations for media fields

    Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone has built a system where captions and alt text (stored in the media library) can have a number of translations into other languages.

Can anyone suggest some approaches I could take with this problem?

    Cheers.
    Murray.

    Hi Murray,

Is this what you are looking for?

    http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/how-tos/how-to-localize-umbraco-backend-document-types

I am not sure if this works on the descriptions or tabs though, but you could test :)

Note you need to set each users language in the User settings.

    /Dennis

Hey Murray check out http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/dictionary-datatype that allows you to add a new field that will be split up in the different languages available on your site

Thanks Tim, that's it exactly. I was thinking about making such a thing, now I don't need to :-)
