    XSLT book suggestion

    Hi all,

I have been using lately XSLT but do not have much knowledge about it. I try to use forum, wiki but it helps up to a point. What I would like to ask is that is there any good book which will help me grasp xslt for the beginners?

    Thanks

Another piece of advice, try using an advanced xslt editor like the 99$ "Stylus Studio 2010" Home edition (or the  trial)

It'll help you avoid basic syntax errors, and optionally if you work out how to use it live previews if your resulting output.

As an Umbraco Newbie, I'm also looking out for a good book on Xslt.

This book looks like what I'm searching for:

Beginning XSLT and XPATH: Transforming XML Documents and Data (Wrox Programmer to Programmer)
    by: Ian Williams

I took a quick look in the content table and I liked it because it seems very hands on (not 20+ pages on the history of xslt) and it's recent (2009).

    Hope this helps,

I really liked Beginning XSLT by Jeni Tennison

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beginning-XSLT-Programmer-Jeni-Tennison/dp/1861005946

Hard to find new, but I picked it up second hand on amazon for about £10 a few months ago.

Since no one else have mentioned it, I'll add Beginning XSLT 2.0: From Novice to Professional by Jeni Tennison to the list. I know it's XSLT 2.0, but it's still a very good book in my opinion.

Anything by Jeni Tennison is highly recommended!

If you do want to use online examples, take a look at the W3 Schools section on XSLT:

    http://w3schools.com/xsl/default.asp

This is where I learnt XSLT many many years ago! :-D  The online editor is very useful for testing out the example.

    Cheers, Lee
