XSLT macros inserted in RTE - how to move them without using source view?

    Hi all,

I've created an xslt macro to be used in the richtext editor. It works great:

using macros with the richtext editor to give more control over content

The question is this. How can a content manager move the macro after the content has been saved? For example if they decide that their formatted content should appear next to a different paragraph in the content. From what I can see, it's not possible to select the macro and drag it around the content. The only way I've found to move it is to use html view and copy/paste the

    ...
to the desired place in the content.

    I'm using Umbraco v4.0.1.

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi David,

This might be a silly thought, but can you move the text around the macro? Not very intuitive for the users but better than having them go in the source view.

    Hi Lesley,

That works actually - thanks! Dunno why I didn't think of it before. Still, it's not quite what you'd like to see happen, but at least it means that the client can control the position of the macro. I also notice that you can't remove the macro after you've added it - any ideas on that one?

    Thanks,

    David

You can remove the macro... but selecting it so that it can be removed (or the properties edited) seems to be impossible in Safari/Mac from my own experience, though I've not done a thorough test. If you can reproduce please enter a bug in codeplex.

    cheers,
    doug.

    Thanks Doug,

This is a problem with IE7 only - it works fine in Firefox.

I've created a bug on codeplex here:

Cannot select/edit/move macro content in Tiny MCE in IE7 (v4.0.1)
