I went through all the things to do, and load the installer.
First time it ran i had a few issues with access rights to some of the folders, i fixed that, and ran the installer a second time. This time it reaches the third phase where the database (SQL server) is updated.
The progres indicator relatively fast reaches 35% and the little label under it reads "Updating databasetables..." and then it just sits there for ages.
I have experienced the same issue when I tried to upgrade from 4.0.x to 4.7 directly. I would strongly recommend to first upgrade to 4.5.2 since this version contains the upgrade wizard to upgrade the database scheme.

Does the data base update take very long time ?
The site has about 800 pages.

just press f5, when its stucked at 35%.
