    Moving an Umbraco Site from a 2003 Server to a 2008 Server

    Hi Can anyone recommend a procedure for migrating sites to 2008 

    I have only created the one umbraco site so far but moving it is proving to be an issue. I have had issues with the target framework and also with permissions for umbraco.config

    long story short I cant get this site working on my new server

    Hi,

    I have transfered many sites without any problem.

    If you create a separate app pool using .Net 4, set the correct permissons, you should be good to go.
    Remember to verify the system.WebServer section in the web.config (used by IIS 7+)

    I use WebsitePanel to setup the new server...  it saves me a lot of configuration hassle.
