Step by Step instructions for installing in Virtual Directory?

Anyone know of any step-by-step instructions for installing Umbraco in a Virtual Directory / IIS Application?

    We are running version 4.7.

An earlier forum post said that their CSS paths broke - which looks like a Master Page problem (hard-coded root-relative CSS paths) - and another forum suggested Packages could be a problem. Are there any other known problems?

    Thanks.

Generally I would say don't install in a VD, is using a host header with a sub domain not a better solution?

    Hi Peter,

    Welcome to the Umbraco forum!

I would agree with Thomas, unless you have specific reasons to install Umbraco into a Sub domain I would avoid the unnecessary headache.

Thanks guys - we're going to go with a sub-domain.
