Compile and install Umbraco 4.7.1 on ASP .NET 3.5

Hi guys,

before I start to try it. Is it even posible to compile umbraco 4.7.1 on framework .NET 3.5?

Hi there

No its not. Its based on .Net 4.

Why would you want to do this anyway?

Hi,

is because I want to install umbraco on an hosting that got only framework 3.5, and so I should use the umbraco ver 4.5.2, is it correct?

The other day, for mistake I installed a package for 4.7.1 on 4.5.2 and I corrupted the umbraco, it was not even start at all.

The thing is that I don't want to lose the newest features of umbraco.

Anyway I think I'll use the 4.5.2 version.

Oh right

.Net 4 has been around for a long time now. Any hosting provider should have installed it by now. Can't you have a moan or perphaps look for another provider?
