    Installing v5 via WebMatrix

Hi. I'm having issues installing v5 using WebMatrix - I grab it from the Web Gallery, download, and all is well, Web Matrix tells me the site has started successfully.

I'm running windows 7 (at work), and have installed successfully at home on Vista, also using WebMatrix. I have 4.7 running successfully on the win 7 machine.

When I navigate to /install, I get the error below:

    Server Error in '/' Application.

Could not find a part of the path 'C:\...\Umbraco CMS 5\bin\'.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\...\Umbraco CMS 5\bin\'.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

    cheers
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan -

You might try having a look at your installer logs for WebMatrix (webPi) and see where this is originating.  Or is the error from your Umbraco site?

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Web Platform Installer

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebMatrix

    Hi Paul

I thought I'd deleted this post - I sorted it out. I think it was permissions-related, moving the install from a network drive to a physical disk seemed to do the job. Strange in that the v4.x install is on the network drive and working. All good though.

    cheers
    Nathan
