gave me some problems as i didnt have same line near the end of the file. Anyhow i put it in and finished the install, but when i try go to localhost all i keep getting is login window upon typing username and pw and finally clicking [login]. Any clues? Ty for your time.
Did you install 3.0 or 4.0? I recommend using 4.0. You don'have to change any config files just make syre you have enough rights on the folder and you have the database credentials then browse to the site and follow the install instructions.
this last problem was under vista on virtual machine
On windows xp (native-not virtualed) i as well followed tutorial but on the end when i finish i try reaching address localhost all iget is IIS welcome screen....
(Could be that on certain step of tutorial it says extract umbraco directly to ~/inetpub/wwwroot but on the very link provided is a installer that puts it automatically in a folder inside wwwroot.
yet another login issue
Hi i'm a new user to umbraco (to be quite frank i havent heard of it till like 2days ago:)
