I think if it was me who should upgrade, I'll probably take it in steps as they type. so first upgrade from 4.7.1 to 4.7.2 and from 4.7.2.to 4.8.0 and so on up to version 6.0.0.

yes, step by step, doesn't make any difference if you are using WebMatrix, Visual Studio, or notepad.
