Has anyone successfully installed Umbraco 6+ on an XP machine

I have a dev machine running XP Pro and IIS 5.1 which I am loth to ditch because I have a few legacy programs I use a lot and won't run on 7 (and 8 is just a nightmare).

I have an issue with templates not saving http://our.umbraco.org/forum/templating/templates-and-document-types/43330-Parent-template-not-being-saved-on-edit?p=0#comment162476 which points to an IIS issue.

    Can it be done?

    Ismail,

No, I'm not. I should have added that we have run Umbraco many times prior to the last security glitch (in May), with no problems but they were all 4.xx

It seems to be related to the REST calls made when trying to save a Template. IIS returns a 405

If it helps, I am setting this up following my own guide on http://www.etymonda.com/software/umbraco.aspx something I wrote some time ago when I began to despair at the state of documentation on Umbraco.

    I now get:

When opening the Settings tab (I'm continuing on to see how far I can get and also to see the extent of the problems).
