    Upgrading from 4.0.3 to 7.1.3

We need to update an old site to the latest version of umbraco.

Should we go step by step updating one version at a time?

    Can we do this?

Which is the best way to do this?

Current Umbraco version: umbraco v 4.0.3 (Assembly version: 1.0.3625.27276)

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Maxi,

About upgrading an Umbraco install I think that you should take a look at Lee Kelleher´s upgrade path, I've had great success using this when I have to uograde an Umbraco installation:

    http://code.leekelleher.com/umbraco/archive/

Other places that could be good to have a look at this these:

    http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/installation/upgrading/general

    http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/installation/upgrading/version-specific

On my work we just upgraded from a version 4.7.2 to a version 4.11.10 in one big step. When you are going to upgrade then I think that you should take the last step and get up it to the new 7.1.4.

But I would take it step by step, by follow Lee Kelleher´s upgrade path until I have upgraded to e.g 4.7.1.1 and as you can see here, then you should be able to upgrade to 4,11.1,

    http://our.umbraco.org/forum/getting-started/installing-umbraco/36855-upgrading-from-472-to-4111

After that you can take from there, either continue to follow Lee's upgrade path, or see if you can take more major steps in the upgrading process.

Hope this helps and it´s useful information good luck with the upgrading,

    /Dennis
