Whilst developing Umbraco projects i have noticed that if i move my solution/project folder in its entirety to another section of my hard drive or to a new USB i get pathing errors.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide or fill me in on how to move Visual Studio projects around without damaging them?
As long as your solution file and project files stay in the same structure then you should be able to move your solution around your hard drive without causing any errors. Also, if you are using IIS for example, you'll need to repoint your website to the new physical folder address.
Moving Projects Around
Hi All,
Whilst developing Umbraco projects i have noticed that if i move my solution/project folder in its entirety to another section of my hard drive or to a new USB i get pathing errors.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide or fill me in on how to move Visual Studio projects around without damaging them?
Kind regards.
Hi James,
As long as your solution file and project files stay in the same structure then you should be able to move your solution around your hard drive without causing any errors. Also, if you are using IIS for example, you'll need to repoint your website to the new physical folder address.
Thanks, Dan.
