Install via NuGet - Visual Studio Pro 2013 - Windows 8.1

    Hi,

I've been wrestling with the install for several days now trying to get it to work correctly.

Here are my step so far :

    • Created a blank project (ASP .NET Web Application, then selected the "Empty" template),
    • Installed Umbraco Via Nuget (7.2.2)
    • Changed the web settings in Visual studio to use Local IIS instead of IIS Express
    • Built the project (Debug)
    • Ran the project from visual studio
    • Installed Umbraco - Customised to use a local version of SQL (installed on my machine - SQL 2012)
    • Install goes through without any issues

I then go to the login screen, enter my details and then i just get a blank page.......

The logs shows the following :
    2015-02-23 19:50:12,589 [71] INFO  Umbraco.Web.Security.WebSecurity - [Thread 60] User Id: 0 logged in

Chrome dev tools shows the following errors

GET http://localhost/Demo/umbraco/ServerVariables?umb__rnd=30774471 401 (You must login to view this resource.)

No url found for api name legacyTreeJs

I'm sure it's something simple that i am doing wrong but i can't work it out!!

Hi Neil and welcome to our,

Sad to hear that you have some problems installing Umbraco. Did you see the documentation about how to install Umbraco with NuGet https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/installation/install-umbraco-with-nuget I have used it serval times, without any problems.

But I also find a similar thead on the forum. Try to see here https://our.umbraco.org/forum/umbraco-7/using-umbraco-7/49453-HTTPS-and-BackOffice-logging-in perhaps it can help you solve this issue.

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

    Hi Neil

Just one more suggestion for you - Could it be the page inspector that is causing issues? I'm not sure what it is to be honest I just found this note from Petr Snobelt when searching for it https://our.umbraco.org/forum/core/41-feedback/60205-Blank-page-when-debug-umbraco-using-Visual-Studio-2013
