Autofolders not working at anything lower than root level?

I'm trying to use the autofolders 2.0.2 plugin to put a categorize a certain group of page into date folders. I've set this up once before on a top level page, and had no issue.

Now I'm trying to do it again but on a site where they will be created under a level 2 page, and it's not creating anything in my node tree. Right after creation, if I look at the properties tab of the page I just created it tells me this page is published but not visible in the tree as the parent page 2010 is not published. I never see the 2010 page, and it doesn't show up when I republish the whole site.

    My structure is like this:

    Content

    - Homepage

    - datefolders are created ok at this level but not needed here.

    - Category page

    - content page

    - datefolders need to start here, but don't work.

My config is basically idential to the stock configuration but I changed the names of the datefolder and document to reflect my document types.

    thanks for any help.
