Error in member section after upgrade from 4.0 (.Net 2.0) to 4.5.1 (.Net 4.0)

After having updated a solution from 4.0 (.Net 2.0) to 4.5.1 (.Net 4.0) I'm experiencing a NullReferenceException in the Member section of umbraco that I have not experienced before.
Everything seems to work fine except when selecting a user from the tree. I get the following exception:
Have anybody else experienced this error and if so have anybody solved it?
