I have a document type with a mandatory date field, but I can save it without filling anything in.
I am using Umbraco 4.5.2. Not sure if this is fixed in later versions, but I thought I'd mention it.

I can save a mandatory Date field without filling in anything
I have a document type with a mandatory date field, but I can save it without filling anything in.
