Why is there no foreign key relationship between cmsContent.contentType and umbracoNode.NodeID

The subject of this explains my question quite well.

Basically I'm asking why there is no foreign key relationship between cmsContent.contentType and umbracoNode.NodeID so that documents don't get orphaned in the database without a document type.

Is there a reason for this, or is it just a bug?

    Hi,

I'm not sure this is posted in the correct forum area, this is the area for discussing bugs with our.umbraco.org (this site) rather than with specific bugs or issues with the Umbraco code base.

Judging by your question I'd say it was best reported as an issue in the http://www.codeplex.com/umbraco site, this will bring it to the attention of core developers who can act on the report.

Sorry, if I posted this in the wrong place :o.

There already is a bug on the issue: http://umbraco.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=16914. I was wondering if there was a more underlying reason for the last of a foreign key check on this issue already.
