How do I get at the connection string for VistaDB when using it? I have been using it instead of SQL Server for 2-3 sites. I am noticing performance issues and I think it's probably related to VistaDB, so I wanted to tweak the connection string.
I'm surprised more people aren't experimenting with VistaDB... for smaller sites, it's really convenient, but I'm starting to worry that the performance isn't worth the convenience.
The location of VistaDB is hard-coded in the "VistaDB For Umbraco.dll". If you're desperate to move the database, you'll have to download the source code and recompile.
I've been seeing a lot of performance issues with VistaDB, but mainly in the backoffice. My colleague moved two of the sites to SQL Express and is very happy with the huge performance boost.
Don't think there's much to tweak in the connection string, or the database itself.
Hmmm... I think this should be fixed for future versions. I would like the ability to deploy and redeploy a site without VistaDB locking up. And for smallish sites Vista has worked well.
