I'm experiencing the same problem. Republishing/reloading didn't help.

A client wants to make 4 nodes temporarily unavailable, but after unpublishing, the pages are still reachable which is VERY frustrating.

    Any suggestions on another solution?

My version is 4.7.1.1. by the way.

How do you display the nodes. I have seen this before when somebody used the document API to display content on the front end. The document API will also show unpublished content

    Apparantly the problem is this:

I had a umbracourlalias set up for these nodes. After emptying the umbracourlalias and unpublishing the nodes, the pages were still available through these aliasses.

I have setup an umbraco redirect which works (when i publish the page) when i surf to the 'real' url, but it won't work when i surf to the alias.

This is driving me up the walls!
