I have a completely fresh 4.9 install on my host (123-reg) and I cannot create anything. I uploaded an unconfigured site to my host and then went through the setup process on the host using SQL Server.
If I click on content or media the create button is enabled but there are no nodes to create content on. If I click on anything else the create button is disabled and there are no nodes within the tree view.
I was getting an error and so had to add enableViewStateMac="false" to the pages directive within my web.config or the site would not run at all.
