    Data type not found

    Hi!

I'm experiencing a rather complicated problem. Here are the two symptoms:

    1. When I go into the Umbraco admin and select Developer->Data Types no datatypes are listed - it's empty. Still all datatypes seem to be intact when I look in the Umbraco database.
    2. If I try to edit any document type in Settings -> Document Types I get an error page that looks like this: http://www.maaki.com/thomas/umbraco/editNodeTypeNew.htm.

What could have caused this error? A deleted datatype is my best guess, but to my knowledge no one has touched the datatypes and the pages on the site are still fully functional and can be edited and saved. So the datatypes seem to be there after all?!

    I'm stumped!

    /Thomas

Somehow the last dot became a part of the url. Here's a working link:

    Hi again!

I'm a bit surprised that noone has experienced this problem before. I could really need some help.

The current Umbraco version is 4.0.0RC so perhaps the problem can be solved by upgrading to the latest version? Anything else that I could check?

    Regards,
    /Thomas

Continuing the monologue, I found this topic in the forum:

    http://our.umbraco.org/forum/core/general/5013-Object-reference-not-set-to-an-instance-of-an-object

It seems to be the same problem that I'm experiencing. I will try this next week when I'm back at work.
