    Where is the "insert code" button?

    Hi guys

    Am I the only one missing the possibility to insert code into the forum posts in this wonderfull new forum? :)

    Just use the "preformatted" style from the dropdown in the editor:

    public void test(){
      string test = "fjdkslfjdskljfds";
      //do stuff
    }

    It looks like it sometimes work, sometimes not.

    Try look at jasper's post at

    The preformatted style from the dropdown is not clear it will format it as code.

    Could the dropdown read Code as opposed to Preformatted as not everyone is aware of it, the more obvious we make it the better :)

    Yes good idea - But I can't help to think that it would maybe be easier if it was made as a button next the others?

    I might be in the minority, but I still prefer the old BBcode-style editor. Plain-text mark-up gsave much more control over the topic post/reply (in terms of including code snippets).  But I do understand that a rich-text-editor is more appealing to the masses.  Is it possible to find a happy middle-ground?

    We could add the "view raw html" button to the editor so you can edit everything by hand if you prefer code?

    I dont see a a problem with the WYSIWYG editor I just think it needs to be more clear that the preformatted style = code syntax highlighted snippet

    I do have issue sometimes (especially when using <enter>s), so i like the idea of having a 'view raw html' button to verify before posting. it would at least save us another post just because of inproper formatting. Lee gets my vote.

    Cheers,

    /Dirk

    But would you need RAW XHTML view if you could edit your posts though?
