    Wiki syntax for the Wiki?

As the WIki is lacking many editing features in it's WYSIWYG editor and it is a Wiki, why not implement Wiki syntax for the WIki?

With the release of WikiPlex (http://wikiplex.codeplex.com/) it should be pretty darn easy! Plus give us all the ability to have more markup features than what currently exists without worrying about modifying toolbars, etc...

I think this would be a huge benefit for writing documentation!

    Thoughts??

If you check out the roadmap for our.umbraco the plan is to add more of the TinyMCE buttons to the wiki editors (http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/about/ourumbracoorg-progress) which will remove the need for it IMO.

Yeah, but i prefer wiki syntax so i don't have to scroll all the way up to use menu bars, etc...

There's should/could be the option for the editor to decide...

You know, a lot of the shortcut keys work in most browsers, Ctrl + B (or Cmd + B for us Mac people) will bold, same for Italics and stuff (depending on whether the browser intercepts it or not though).
