    Wiki vs Documentation ?

with the new documentation section being driven from GitHub, what's the score with Wiki articles that say the same thing.

    for example http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/reference/api-cheatsheet/using-iapplicationeventhandler-to-register-events

is in the wiki and a less good version of

    http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Reference/Events/application-startup

    • i've put a link at the top of the wiki article, but should it be deleted or redirected (can that even be done?) or just replaced with the link to the new documentation page?

I heard the HQ wants to close down the wiki, because we now have the documentation. I don't know when this will happen.

As I understand it, the Wiki's future is that it will be retired, however there are some useful bits of info on there that currently don't fit easily into the documentation project (how to guides etc) so these need to be considered before anything happens to close down the wiki.

In the meantime, I think it's a great idea that if there is a wiki page that is duplicated in the documentation as Kevin has found that the entire wiki page content should emptied and link to the equivalent documentation page added instead....?

Maybe something like "This wiki content has been moved to http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Reference/Events/application-startup"
