    UMB 4.5.1 Exporting DocumentTypes, Rename, and Reuse

    UMB Experts,

    I have a DocumentType that I have about 14 properties on and was wondering if it was safe to do the following without corruption:

    1) Export DocType
    2) Open in TextEditor and Change the Name and Alias to what I want my new DocType to be
    3) Import it a new DocType

    Hey Kevon,

    I've not done it myself, but as long as you update all occurances, I can't see a problem with doing that.

    Thanks Matt,

    I renamed all the following elements:

    1. <name />
    2. <alias />
    3. <AllowedTemplates>
          <Template />
      </AllowedTemplates>
    4. <Default Template />

    All seems to be working well so far... I'll post back if I run into controversy.

    Added content to DocType, Changed Template, Published It, and all is good!
