I'm just getting started with Umbraco. No matter what I do in Settings with document types and templates, I simply cannot get any to appear in the dropdown list when I try to create content (All I get is the default TextPage). I've created blank ones, templates with macros (how come a template even needs a document type, anyway?), I've created them nested within each other, everything I can think of, but only that dumbass TextPage appears. What's the secret ingredient??

I assume you have a homepage documenttype also? Open that one click on the structure tab and select the document types you want to use.
