Deleted document type for root content node

Hi, I wanted to change my document type for my root index node, and did the mistake by deleting it before assing the new document type. Afterwards I got the error "No node with ID XXX" and couldn't access my root content node (which means all content nodes).

    Then I tried this solution:
    http://our.umbraco.org/forum/templating/templates-and-document-types/18068-Deleted-document-type

But that didn't help, and now my root node is completly gone and I'm being redirected to the Umbraco "Set up your new website" guide.

Is there any thing I can do, or do I have to create all the content nodes again from scratch?

I recreated the content, with a little help from my browsers "offline mode", which had the site content cached :-)
