I've managed to create a cusom index from using the information found in this post - but I'm struggling to find how to populate an index with data from an external source (e.g. products information) - I used to do this in Umbraco 7 fairly easily using ISimpleDataService but I can't find a way to do this in Umbraco 8.
The index creates fine, but I can't find a way to populate it - any ideas?
