Document Type Deployment Issues between environments

    Hey Guys,

do you also experience often that changes made to document types or added document types are not properly deployed between dev environments including live?

It happens very often to me. Sometimes it helpts if I make a little change to the document type and push again. But now I have the case that repushing with minor changes doesn't help.

It's really annoying, that you have to waste so much time for something, which should work as it is supposed to.

    Any ideas?

    Dee

    Hi Dee,

What mechanism are you using for deploying your document types? Is this an Umbraco Cloud website? If not, is it using uSync to sync the document types or are you doing something custom?

By default Umbraco doesn't have a mechansim for syncing document types between environments, hence my questions above. Umbraco Cloud uses something called Deploy to do the syncronisation, where as uSync is a plugin to help with it.

    Thanks

    Nik

    Hey Nik,

    thanks for your response.

The website is in Umbraco Cloud, so I am using the Umbraco Deploy and GitKraken as Git Client for pushing changes to Live.

It happes really very often and I do not have any custom steps for deployments. It's just about simple changes in document or member types and pushing them to live or other dev environments. the changes are tracked by git and pushed, it is clearly trackable, but they often just don't "arrive" in backoffice of the other environments. As already mentioned, sometimes pushing minor changes like "adding a description to the document type" and repushing helps, as it was also an advice from the umbraco cloud support team. But it does not always resolve the issue.

I just wonder why I am experiencing this behaviour. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
