Is there a way to migrate document types from Umbraco 7 to Umbraco 8. I tried the packages route but it is not working.

On your Umbraco 7 website, be sure to go through each data type, and the ones marked "obsolete" will need changing to the current version of the property editor before running the migration tool or it will fail.
