    Umbraco HASH class for passwords

    Hi, Which Hash class does the latest Umbraco use to Hash paswords?

    Hi Jonathan,

    the HQ developed a brilliant page about all these questions; http://umbraco.com/security. As you can see it states; 'Passwords by default are hashed with HMAC-SHA256 and the salt is 128bit'.

    If that is not enough for you, you should definitely upvote this issue; http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-8644.

    Hi Thank you for the link, sadly the page no longer details the hash used. I've done some digging and found this https://umbraco.com/blog/introducing-umbraco-78-beta-is-out/ but it says the hash change is work in progress.

    And there is nothing listed for hash in https://our.umbraco.com/download/releases/compare?from=7.7.9&to=7.15.4

    Is anyone able to help please?
