    Developer Umbraco Resources

    Hi everyone,

I'm new in .net CMS products, not long ago i have opted for Umbraco, i have been waiting for Orchard2 that is reimplementation of Orchard 1 but in .Net Core, the fact is that is still in Pre-Alpha, so for the moment i'll work with umbraco (I like among others, the feature that is implemented for developers).

I'm .Net Software Architect and would like to be expert with umbraco. I'll apreciate if some one can tellme the important resources to view for be an expert with Umbraco (Administering and extending it).

    Thanks all and best regards.

    Hi Orney

It's a pleasure to see that .net architect want to be Umbraco expert. First of all read about two ways of developing Umbraco sites, it's little bit difference

    Documentation for Umbraco 7

    https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/

    Umbraco Cloud documentation

    https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Umbraco-Cloud/

Alternative docs to read - https://github.com/kgiszewski/LearnUmbraco7

If you like to watch Umbraco videos instead of reading - http://umbraco.tv/

I would recommend you to be active member in Umbraco community and do as many as possible Umbraco projects )

    Have a nice day

    /Alex

I've found the LearnUmbraco7 Github documentation really useful. I'm still working my way through it but it's well written and easy to follow. I've mixed it in with then dipping into the official documentation for finer details.

This article I wrote about a year ago (still relevant) is a good overview of the ecosystem: http://24days.in/umbraco-cms/2015/umbraco-zeitgeist/

That site also has a ton of great articles every year: http://24days.in/umbraco-cms/2016/

I've written a few other Umbraco articles here: https://code101.net/

Here's one that is particularly relevant: http://skrift.io/articles/archive/building-umbraco-websites-with-archetype-widgets-and-ditto/

Again, that is another site with lots of excellent Umbraco articles: http://skrift.io/articles/
