Visual Studio options for using UmbracoCms.7.5.11.zip
I totally see how easy it is to modify Umbraco templates directly in Visual Studio 2015 if I install Umbraco as a nuGet package. But if I accidently forget that and instead install the UmbracoCms.7.5.11.zip zip file as a website under IIS, can I still go and modify and save my templates in Visual Studio 2015? Will this cause issues? FYI - I already see that there are editing options for templates in Umbraco from the browser, but I still prefer modifying through Visual Studio. Is the Nuget package the only way to go for me to do this?
I apologize if this question has been asked a million times before, I'm currently going through the Forum for learning purposes.
You can load the Umbraco site as a website and make amends as you wish. I did a site recently, using the Umbraco Cloud, and it was downloaded as a website. I was able to make amends i wanted and uploaded. I believe you should be fine opening it as a website project.
Don´t apologize , perhaps you are not the only one who have this question. And remember we are the friendliest community in the world. You can still use Visual Studio 2015 to modify your template even though you don´t have setup the Umbraco installation with Nuget.

Choose File --> Open --> Web Site
Hope this helps,
