Whats the other CMS you have evaluated and when you say international do you mean with Localisation?

Hi Mark, no I need to back our decision to go with Umbraco. Management would be reassured knowing well-known websites are running Umbraco.

I know of many International and large organisations using Umbraco, one large organisation, Barclays Bank uses Umbraco for its marketing:

    https://www.barclayslifeskills.com/

Eat, a large UK high street chain and the Iconic TGI Fridays use Umbraco:

    https://www.eat.co.uk

And stars of TV and cuisine use Umbraco:

    https://www.gordonramsayrestaurants.com

Management should rest assured that they are amongst some of the best companies in the world by making the choice to go with Umbraco and not only that, Umbraco also comes with one of the nicest communities open source software could have.

    Hi,

Here are few examples of sites that we built with Umbraco.

    Hopefully this helps.

I and my coworkers built these international sites on Umbraco:

It supports multiple languages and multiple regions.

    I build this one www.inghams.co.uk

Madame Tussauds and other brands owned by Merlin Entertainments uses Umbraco.

I think www.asp.net is also built on Umbraco.

    Thanks all for your links.

I'm using a Chrome add-in called WhatRuns (https://www.whatruns.com/) but it does not seem to be able to identity Umbraco as the running CMS.

I'm wondering if this problem also exists with these kind of stats : https://w3techs.com/technologies/overview/content_management/all.

One problem with stat websites like that is that they don't take into account the type of site. I myself have a Squarespace site and I think I even had a WordPress site at some point, but these were for simple personal projects (e.g., my portfolio website runs on Squarespace).

The stats would likely be quite different if, for example, that stats page listed the content management systems for the top 1,000 most visited sites. And yet again different for the top 10,000 most visited sites.

    Hi Alexandre,

I recently build a tool that can determine whether a website is using Umbraco, and if so, which version it is, and it even tries to determine which packages are used. You can find it over here: https://www.perplex.nl/is-it-umbraco/

I have spidered the Alexa Top 1 Million websites recently and more than 2,000 websites in this top 1 million biggest websites are using Umbraco, so that's quite impressive (especially as you see that most of the top ranking websites don't use a default CMS).

I think it's safe to say that a lot of big companies trust on the power of Umbraco.

    Kind regards, Jeffrey

    Thank you

    Hi Alexandre,

you should definitely come by my CodeGarden-talk and will get into more depth; https://codegarden18.com/sessions/security-lets-have-some-fun-with-umbraco/.

I won't publicly disclose these websites probably, but if you some specific questions (or have to convince your colleagues about Umbraco) I'm more than happy to help out.

I think some really nice websites are already listed in this thread and the biggest one that I'm aware of is asp.net (see also the bottom of that site). So you can be confident that Umbraco is a really mature product that is able to host the biggest platforms on the internet, and is flexible enough to create everything you want.

    Kind regards, Jeffrey
