Hoping somebody can help with this as most of the information I've found is for older versions of Umbraco.
I have a v7.14 installation, working on Azure (not Umbraco Cloud). It's a multi-site install, with 1 of the sub-domains being the Intranet. The client would like to use their existing Active Directory for members for this site, and have configured their Active Directory to allow us to connect from the servers.
However, when I configure the web.config to use the ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider I am getting an "Access Denied" message (it is connecting and authenticating successfully, and the client can browse the directory with it at their end) and Umbraco fails to start.
I suspect that this is because of an issue at their end, but just for the avoidance of doubt does anybody know the exact permissions required by the user specified in the connection string? (I think this is possibly more an AD question than an Umbraco one, but I'm getting a bit desperate).
Active Directory for Members - permissions?
Hi All,

Many thanks!
Chris.
