Rich Text Editor won't create paragraph unless line brake

Be gentle, this is my first post. I've tried searching the forum but I can't find anything about this issue. :)
I am using Umbraco v
4.6.1 (Assembly version: 1.0.4029.25836)
I am using the rich text editor for some fields and if I write text in those without doing any line breaks the final output will be unformatted with no paragraphs or what so ever. Which makes it looks pretty weird since I need the paddings from my <p>.
If I after the first paragraph do a line break it works of course, but do I need to do this everytime? Shouldn't the RTE know that it's a paragraph I'm writing?

Do a shift-enter for a line-break and a standard enter for a paragraph,
Yes, I understand how it works. But if I write let's say a single line I don't want to have to do a line break.
