that sounds like a good solution if you only use the images though templates/Razor/XSLT macro's, but when inserting an image in page content using a normal mediapicker you wouldn't have the option to select the description in the right language (you can enter a new one using free text though)
So it's not perfect, but I don't really see a better solution.
multilanguage descriptions for images
I got this question on my blogpost on multilanguage websites with Umbraco part 3 :
is it possible to have a multilingual description for an image in a multilanguage website.
I think this is only possible if one creates a custom field on the image mediatype for every language that's provided.
For instance if a multilanguage website has 2 languages (Dutch and English) create to properties on the 'Images' media type:
"Dutch description"
"English description"
But maybe someone got a better solution?
