In which format does the import functionality require the data?
If you have the data in a csv file with the following type of content fields will the import work sucesfully and you specify the relevant document types etc:
If you have some content that you need to have imported into Umbraco I suggest that you have a look at the CMS Import package, which is done by Richard Soeteman. Be aware that it's an comercial package so you're only allowed to import 500 nodes with the free license. But a single domain license is only €99 and totally worth the money (if you ask me) since it saves you a lot of time and can do all kind of cool stuff.
Thanks Jan and hi Leonore. I think CMSImport can meet your requirements. Don't need to have the csv file in a particular format, it only requires that you have headers in the csv files. If you have any questions about the package please let me know,
