Help - No content in Umbraco admin page

When I go into my Umbraco site's admin pages (/umbraco/umbraco.aspx) there is no content. The only thing that shows is the "Content" link but there is nothing under it if you click on it.

My site itself is working fine - the admin content just disappeared for no apparent reason.

When I click to go to the Settings and Developer pages, the same thing - nothing.

    What could be causing this?

Are you using Plesk by any chance?  If you are it seems the permissions have been reset.

Even if you are not I would double check the permissions as this sounds like the issue.

    Cheers

My site is on a shared host, so I'll ask them about Plesk.

Which permissions should I check? I don't know what you mean.

Certain folders within the your web folder require modify rights, without correct permissions you might see behaviour as you describe.

Here is a full list http://umbraco.org/documentation/books/important-files-and-folder-structure/permissions

I have the same problem exactly; yes, I'm on Plesk; yes, I went and double-checked all the permissions, all appeared to be already set to Full Control but I went ahead and clicked the "Ok" button each time to make sure the setting would "stick" -- but I still have the problem!!!

So, now what?  I can't do anything; I have an utterly blank site with a page that says Runway, It's off to a great start, but no, it's not!  I can't do anything to it!!

I wondered if this is related to that last bit of info that says to edit web.config in the file mgr, "locate the key <add key="umbracoConfigurationStatus" value="" />" and "change it to <add key="umbracoConfigurationStatus" value="4.0.0" />"  but obviously I don't want to change it to 4.0.0, since I just installed 4.0.4.2 !

    So, would it be:  <add key="umbracoConfigurationStatus" value="4.0.4.2" />

    ???

Could this fix the blank-admin-pages problem?

    thx!

I seem to be always answering my own posts around here.  Yes, what I said above apparently did fix the problem.  It's also worth noting (for the terminally clueless of whom I am unfortunately a member in good standing) that those little arrows to the left of the menu items are expandable, as if they were the more-usual plus signs -- you click them to expand the menu choices; when you finally select one of those expanded selections, THEN you see something in the right pane. *slap self in head*

    ;)
