Can't Authenticate Flickr Provider 1.0 in Umbraco 6.1.x

I'm using Umbraco 6.1.1 and the Flickr Provider (v1.0).

When installing UMP I tried to install the Flickr, Vimeo and YouTube providers, but got the "3 provider(s) failed to install" message, so I installed the Flickr one manually which seemed to work.

The problem is that when I've created a DataType and click the "Click to authenticate" link, a blank window appears, but nothing happens - it doesn't even seem to get have URL (by inspecting, that is — not because the bar's hidden :-)

The web.config has the Flickr keys as have been mentioned in other posts...

Is this just a "not compatible with 6.x" issue? It's hard to tell from the project page if a specific provider isn't compatible, since the compatibility info only applies to the main UMP package.

UPDATE: Finally managed to get an error message - it seems the Flickr provider is using a proxy server (oauth.sitereactor.dk) to authenticate, but that server is currently not responding.

    - So is it possible to manually authenticate the provider somehow?

I had the same issue several times. Eventually, I was forwarded to the Flickr login screen. I logged in and was returned to a blank screen. I found the oAuth Token in the url. I, too, am using 6.1.x. Not a lot of experience with oAuth or the Universal Media Picker. Just giving clues.

    Good luck!

So this was caused by the proxy server being down. When it came back, everything worked smoothly.
